Membership
Requirements
1) Must
be at least 18 years of age
2) Must
have residence within the boundaries of the GSVFD district (unless
approved by the BOD)
3) Must
be in good physical condition
4) Must
not have been convicted of a felony or crime of moral turpitude
5) Must
have a valid Texas class C or B driver’s license
6) Must
submit to and pass a background check (criminal, driving, etc.)
7) Must
meet all requirements, unless otherwise approved by the Board of
Directors (BOD)
8) Must
obtain a high school diploma or GED.
Candidates
for membership shall be required to:
1) Complete
an application of intent to join
2) Pass
an interview by the BOD
3) Pass
a physical agility test
4) Be
voted in by a majority of membership after attending two consecutive
meetings and then be voted in on the third meeting
5) Attend
up to a 20 hour training course, depending on experience, decided
by the BOD, before they can receive a pager.
6) Serve
on apprenticeship for 6 months prior to review by the BOD
