Us
The
mission of the Greenwood-Slidell Volunteer Fire Department is to
provide the residents of Greenwood, Slidell, Allison, and Sycamore,
Texas with a highly trained and efficient fire suppression and prevention
organization that operates in a safe manner to protect the communities
from the ravages of fire, hazardous situations, and medical emergencies
within the scope of our resources.
The
Greenwood-Slidell Volunteer Fire Department is located in the far
northeast corner of Wise County, Texas. We serve four communities:
Greenwood, Slidell, Allison, and Sycamore, an area of 170 square
miles and a population estimated at 4,500 and growing. Our fire
district is bordered by three different counties (Cooke, Montague,
and Denton). Our fire department is an all-volunteer organization.
We currently have 24 dedicated volunteers in our organization.
